Hard Court
Hard court is a surface that tennis is played on. It is usually made of rigid materials such as asphalt or sometimes it can be concrete.
The court is also covered with acrylic resins to seal the surface and it also provides some cushioning. There are lots of maintenance methods to keep the court in peak condition.
The only two Grand Slams that are played on hard court are the Australian Open and the US Open.
Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Rafa Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic are the most successful hardcourt players, with Andy Murray also recording over 500 career hard court wins.
Professional hard court tournaments are always played on acrylic however most recreational players play on concrete.
